READ ABOUT Bangweulu Wetlands

Fully-catered tented camp in Bangweulu Wetlands, Zambia

Shoebill Island Camp overview

Shoebill Island Camp is a fully catered lodge featuring four ensuite canvas chalets.

The camp is nestled under trees on an island in the vast watery expanse of the Bangweulu wetland. The ensuite canvas chalets are on concrete platforms behind the camp’s central area. Each unit is discreetly positioned for privacy and to maximise views of the expansive flood plains.

The brick-and-mortar central area is a large open space featuring a dining room, bar, spacious lounge with indoor fireplace and library. The outdoor firepit is the ideal spot for evening sundowners and early morning coffees. The camp is solar-powered.

The unfenced camp enjoys views over Bangweulu Wetlands and is ideally located to enjoy all Bangweulu activities.

Notes:

  1. Please book at least 14 days in advance of your intended stay dates

  2. Camp Closed: December to May (flood water level dependent)
